Statement

The work I have included in this digital portfolio reflects my interests in 3D design, pattern and drawing. From the first project, which is based on the theme of the natural and man made world, I’ve created an intricate small sculpture and included some development work. I am particularly interested in Andy Goldsworthy’s work and very inspired by natural form. This is followed by a body adornment, which is a combination of wire and paper string crocheted together, based on Thai culture. There is some experimental work for this project which includes 3D, sewing samples and prints. I think the colours and texture of this piece are very successful. There are also some images of my life drawing and painting, which I’ve included because I feel it’s important to have good basic skills to help with my design work.

I am originally from Thailand and have studied in the U.K. for three years. I have a passion for studying Art and Design and have an ambition to become an interior designer because I feel that interior spaces have an effect on people through colour, furnishing and layout. I would love to learn to create spaces that suit people’s needs. I’m also a responsible reliable and hard-working person. An interior design course at the Manchester School of Art will allow me to explore and develop my design and social skills, building my experiences to be a successful interior designer.
